A Quebec boy who was the subject of a five-day-long Amber Alert has been found, along with the suspect, provincial police confirmed Saturday evening.
“We confirm that we have located the child and the suspect,” police said in a tweet.
Police did not provide an update on the boy or the suspect’s conditions.
“Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec are currently deployed on Chemin de la Coulée-Carrier in Sainte-Paule,” the SQ said in a tweet. “We ask citizens not to approach the premises.”
The SQ issued an Amber Alert for the three-year-old boy Tuesday after they believed his 36-year-old father abducted him from the area of Sainte-Paule, Que., located on the Gaspé Peninsula about 630 kilometres northeast of Montreal on Tuesday afternoon. The territory under alert included all of Quebec and New Brunswick.
