The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is tracking another high-altitude airborne object in northern Canadian airspace Saturday.
The U.S. shot down an aerial object off the coast of Alaska on Friday
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is monitoring another “high-altitude airborne object” over northern Canada, the organization confirmed Saturday.
“Military aircraft are currently operating from Alaska and Canada in support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) activities. NORAD confirms that we have positively identified a high-altitude airborne object over Northern Canada,” a spokesperson for the joint Canada-U.S. air defence organization said in a statement Saturday.
NORAD declined to provide additional details.
On Friday, the U.S. shot down what it described as an object roughly the size of a small car that was flying at an altitude of around 40,000 feet off the coast of Alaska.
And one week ago, the U.S. military destroyed what it asserts was a Chinese surveillance balloon that had traversed the continent. China says it was a weather balloon that was blown off course.
The fact NORAD was monitoring an additional object was first reported by Global News on Saturday.
