The Canadian women’s team began play on Saturday with a 21-12 victory over Japan, giving the team a record of one win, one draw and one loss in pool play. In the Cup quarter-finals Canada suffered a 50-5 loss to New Zealand. 

Their next match comes on Sunday at 1:44 a.m. ET as they face France in the fifth-place semifinal.

Canada began their tournament with a 19-19 draw with France before dropping their next match to the U.S. by a score of 24-7.

The Canadian men’s team began Saturday with a 17-12 loss to France and then wrapped pool play play with 36-17 loss to Fiji. Their next match comes on Sunday at 3:18 a.m. ET as they face Australia in the ninth-place quarter-final.

Canada began their tournament on Friday with a 17-7 loss against the host South Africans.
